The ancient Kingdom of Angkor was an incredibly powerful force in Asia. Angkor Temple adopted Hindu and Buddhist beliefs and combined them with local beliefs. The temples took inspiration from the mountains believed to be the homes of the gods. They replicated the world as seen through the Hindu and Buddhist perspective. Angkor Wat was the largest temple with a vast complex. Angkor Thom was created as part of a huge building project created by the last Angkor king.
