Cultural Appropriation

Noun. The borrowing and exploitation of the practices of a cultural minority by individuals not pertaining to the group, often for sake of aestheticization and profit. Appropriation often simplifies and denigrates the historical significance of cultural items and practices, with no credit to the communities from which they originate.
